103 | Glen Rodman: One of the finest big tournament wrestlers
we have had in the history of the program. Two time state finalist with his senior year to

112 | Shawn (Jurco) Corn: One of the programs most explosive
and exciting wrestlers in Nikiski wrestling history. Two time finalist along with a third
place finish in 98' with one more year to go has allowed him his place on the all-decade
team. State Champion in 1997 at 112 / Runner-up 1997 Fall, 119 / Third in 1998, 130. |
119 | Chris Parker: The schools only four time state finalist,
and one of only a handful that has accomplished that feat in Alaska State wrestling
history. He capped his career off with both an individual and team State Championship.
Finished his career 107-23. 3X Runner-up in 1996 at 103; 1997 at 119; Fall 1997 at 130; 1998 State Champion at 152. |
125 | Ryan Dyer: Nikiski's first four time state placer. A
great thrower and technician by his senior year. Had one of the best wrestling days in
this programs 10 years of existence his senior year by knocking off two #1 wrestlers at
the 4A level in one afternoon: Pat McMullin and Roberts, both of Kenai. 2X Runner-up in 1992 at 103, 1993 at 112, Fourth in 1994 at 125, Third in 1995 at 130. |
130 | Josh Payment: Another one of the hard luck stories from
Nikiski's wrestling past. A three-time runner-up, all at different weights. The first for
a Nikiski wrestler. 3X Runner-up in 1998 at 102; 1990 at 112; 1991 at 130. |
135 | James Linderman: The schools first two-time state
champion. James will be remembered throughout this state for his unorthodox style of
wrestling and his heart and will to win. Wrestled Spencer Reardon of Bethel (Kotzebue) for
both state title matches. Fourth in 1995 at 135; 2X State Champion in 1996 at 130, 1997 at 135. |
140 | Luke Nelson: Intensity describes this physical wrestler.
Came within one match in both his sophomore and senior year from being a state placer.
Three time state semi-finalists for the Bulldogs during the championship years. Fourth in 1996 at 140 |
145 | Abe Porter: One half of the twins that was part of a core
group of kids that started this whole run of Championships. Abe was a two-time runner-up
for Nikiski with heartbreak losses to Johnny McMahan of Glennallen and Tony Lindoff of
Hoonah. The following year, Johnny would take another title, this time against Eli Porter,
Abe's twin brother. 2X Runner-up in 1996 at 145; 1997 at 145. |
152 | J.D. Spurgeon: Transferred his senior year, the first
year Nikiski opened its doors. State placer for Kenai as a Junior and a state champion his
senior year at Nikiski. 2X State Champion in 1988 at 152 (Kenai); 1989 at 152. |
160 | Scott Hawkins: Transferred his senior year, the first
year Nikiski opened its doors. State placer for Kenai as a Junior and a state champion his
senior year a t Nikiski. State Champion in 1989. |
171 | Luke Hulien: A three-time state semi-finalist for the
Bulldogs only to bring home a medal once. Held in one some of the toughest weight classes
while he was in school, Luke, along with the others of his time, continued to raise the
intensity level of our room to where it is today! Third in 1997 at 171. |
189 | Calvin Lundy: Another wrestler that had to wait his turn
to be in the spot light. Wrestled behind a state champion teammate and then behind the
likes of John Groundwater (Arizona State) and Kirk Johnson (Air Force) during his junior
year. Eventually a state champion his senior year. Third in 1997 Fall at 189; State Champion in 1998 at 189. |
215 | Joe Nelson: A three-time state placer, highlighted by a
state championship of his own during his Junior year. One of the mainstays to the four
consecutive state titles this program has gone through from 1996-1998, winning two team
title in 1997 with the season change. Third in 1997 at 215; State Champion in 1997 Fall at 175; Third in 1998 at 275. |
275 | Tom Rawles: Transfer student from Kotzebue in 1996 where
he had a great career placing at state all three years he was there with a state title as
a Junior. Four time Region Champion in Alaska. Third in 1993 at 275 (Kotzebue); Third in 1994 at 274 (Kotzebue); State Champion in 1995 at 275 (Kotzebue), Runner-up in 1996 at 275 (Nikiski). |
